2017 Trade Shows

Looking back on the recent 2017 NLA conventions, we definitely saw a season of change. But with change comes rebirth and rebuilding – literally a World of Opportunities - and the NLA staff is excited for what is to come!

New show formats, fun contests, a fresh theme, and new NLA staff were all introduced this year.   Our seminar attendance at most shows proved that education is very much a priority amongst our membership and the buzz on the exhibit show floors was music to everyone’s ears.  Dealers are optimistic about 2017 and are already busy quoting new business.  A gentle winter has certainly helped business and those who attended the shows noted that January would provide its usual slow down but February and beyond would be busy.

Each show (however different they each may be) proved to be a major success for 2017!

New beginnings, unfortunately, can often times mean an ending as well.  After much deliberation, we said goodbye to our Wisconsin Lumber Dealers Convention this year, as attendance numbers have continued to struggle over the last several years.  The Wisconsin Convention went out on a high note with Ret. Captain Jason Church addressing this year’s luncheon attendees.  He provided a message to everyone about the power of positivity; one that lives on with NLA and WRLA as we look to make positive changes to Wisconsin’s annual event.  NLA staff and the Wisconsin Retail Lumber Association board are all working hard to develop a brand new event in that region and will unveil our new plan later this year. Stay tuned!

Moving forward, it is NLA’s goal to continually focus on rebuilding these shows into “must-attend events”.  We have begun this several year process with anticipation and excitement, knowing what’s in store for the future of our conventions.   We invite YOU to come along with us on our vision – keep exhibiting, keep attending and keep giving us your feedback!   You are the reason we succeed!
