Cody grew up around the world of association management and began his service to the LBM industry in 2010 after a career in the golf industry. Now serving as President & Secretary, Cody is responsible for the day-to-day
operations of the organization, working with NLA’s Boards & Committees and helping NLA’s membership grow and prosper. When not in the office, Cody enjoys playing golf, boating and spending time with his wife, Brook, and 2 children.
Claussen, Regional Field Representative
recently graduated college from Winona State University in 2019 and has
been off and running in the LBM industry ever since. As NLA’s regional
field representative, he primarily spends his time working with the
membership of the association. His role varies from signing new members
up to calling on members to attend any given class or training. He also
enjoys visiting members during the travel season and loves planning
social gatherings such as golf outings, clay shoots, and wine and
whisky tours. In his free time, Will loves to spend time with his
fiancé AJ. He is an avid outdoorsmen as he loves to hunt, fish, boat,
and soak up all the vitamin D he can!
Grady, Project Coordinator
Lindsay is a lifetime Minnesotan growing up in the Western suburbs and graduating from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. Lindsay has a 15-year background in association work with two different Minnesota organizations; Midwest
Global Trade Association and Robbinsdale Crime Prevention Association. When not working, Lindsay can be found out and about in the Cities, either sampling new cuisine or listening to great bands.
Fleck, CMP, Director of Conventions & Tours
Jodie has served as NLA’s Director of Conventions & Tours since 2010. In that time, she’s planned and directed 35+ of the association’s conventions and is currently developing her 10th annual LBM Mill Tour
for the organization. Prior to starting at NLA, Jodie spent over 10 years working in the event & association industries.
In her free time, you will find her adventuring via foot, bike, snowshoes or kayak, attending classic/muscle car events, and dreaming of a nomadic lifestyle in exotic destinations.
Hultman, Office Manager &
Melanie started working with NLA in 1997 as an administrative assistant and has wore many hats since then. Helping independent lumber yards stay viable and prosperous is important to her, as she comes from a family that works in the construction
industry. Melanie enjoys working on the mini-farm in her backyard with her kids, giant dog, cats, 6 quail, and small garden.
Johnson, CNPA, Director of Professional
Connie has been working for LBM dealers for over 20 years and enjoys developing and planning professional development programs to help members improve their business operations and support the advancement in their professional
careers. When not working, Connie loves spending time with her family, volunteering and exploring her home state of Wisconsin.
Diane enjoys meeting and talking to people, so the conventions are fun for her. She loves to hear their stories.
She has worked for NLA for 3 years and hopes to work here until she retires in a few years. She feels NLA has a great group of people on staff and are fun to be with.
Steiner, Education & Membership
Anna began with NLA in 2019, and worked in retail management and customer service for several years before that. For NLA, Anna assists Connie, our Professional Development Director as well as Will, our Field Representative with a variety
of tasks and also works to keep our member database up-to-date and organized. When she isn’t at work, she spends her time chasing her 3 daughters, and keeping busy with DIY home projects. She also comes from a photography background so you
are likely to see her behind the lens at many of our events.
